September Drop: Dosu goes back to school

Welcome back to the monthly Dosu Drop! In ancient Mesopotamia, students practiced on clay tablets with a teacher's lesson on one side and their own work on the other. For our back-to-school edition, Dosu does the studying. When a coding session ends, Dosu reads it and writes down what your team would otherwise rediscover.

You can also see what your coding agent gets from Dosu with every read, spend fewer credits on pull requests that don't change your Library, and give Dosu feedback on when to respond.

When your session ends, Dosu starts studying

The Dosu CLI now installs a session-end hook for Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. When a session ends, the hook queues it for background study. Dosu can then save useful decisions, gotchas, and how-things-work notes to your Library, ready for your team's next task.

Setup refreshes your agent skills, installs the hooks, and offers to study the sessions you've run so far. Codex asks you to trust the new hook the first time it runs.

Run dosu and open Activity to see which sessions Dosu has studied or queued.

Report cards are in

Each time your coding agent calls read_knowledge, Dosu shows a Knowledge read card with the Sources and notes it returned. Open a link to inspect the source, or follow a note citation to read the full note inside its citation card.

The read card appears in Cursor, Codex, Claude Desktop, and ChatGPT. Terminal clients get the same list as text. If you've connected the Dosu MCP, you have this today.

Office hours for your Agents

When Dosu leaves a message unanswered, you can see why in Review. Expand the message, then choose Draft a Response if you'd like an answer, or Adjust Agent Guidelines to guide future responses. If an answer timed out, use Try again in the same thread.

You can also give teammates admin access to an individual Agent. Add any organization member from the Agent's Admins tab. They can adjust that Agent's guidelines and settings, and add other admins for it, without organization-wide admin rights. Organization owners and admins retain access.

Extra credit

Knowledge review credits now go to the pull requests that could change your knowledge. Before a full Knowledge review, Dosu checks whether a merged pull request could affect your Library. Changes limited to CI config, lockfiles, or generated files skip the review and use no credits. Other changes get a quick relevance check, and when that check finds nothing worth updating, the PR costs 2 credits instead of a full review.

You can now manage Libraries and Agents, and connect GitHub repos, from your terminal or coding agent.

Commands that update or delete Libraries and Agents ask for confirmation. Where supported, --confirm and --json let scripts and coding agents run those commands. Signing up through the CLI returns you to the terminal after authentication.

Around the Library

Confluence imports now credit the original author. Dosu also recognizes indexed pages from their Confluence links, including the classic viewpage.action?pageId= format.

• Analytics opens on All Libraries, so you can see organization-wide activity before narrowing to one Library.
• Large Libraries open and filter faster.
• Usage-limit emails are triggered when you cross a threshold, with a distinct subject for each organization.
• Your organization audit log records who turned Monitor on or off for a Source, and who changed its paths.
