Throw another log on the fire and settle in for the December Dosu Drop! We've rolled out a sleigh-load of new documentation features this month including an improved review flow for Dosu-generated docs, support for embedding images, and custom style guidelines for your knowledge base. The days are getting shorter, so let's jump right in.
Review Dosu's Documentation Updates
We've made several improvements to the Review process this month. Most importantly, you can now see all the changes that Dosu has made to your documentation with line-by-line diffs.

Observability also requires filtering out the noise, so we've reduced clutter by excluding threads where Dosu was not active. In the process, we also made it faster to load and tidied up the UI. And, with the Weekly Digest that we launched last month, you'll know when there's new activity waiting for you in the Review tab.
We're planning to build on these changes in the coming weeks by introducing an optional human-in-the-loop approval process for documentation changes. Let us know what other features you'd like to see as part of the Review flow by reaching out on Discord.
Add Images to your Documentation
If you're feeling festive, why not decorate your documentation? We just added support for image uploads in our editor.

You can add them any way you'd like: drag and drop into the app, paste from your clipboard, or press the button on the editor bar to open the upload menu. The only thing that stands between you and decking out your docs is finding the perfect PNG of a bough of holly.
Documentation Style Guidelines
Last month, we announced Response Guidelines, custom instructions for how Dosu writes its answers when chatting. We heard from many of you that you wanted the same control over Dosu's writing style when generating documentation, so we're pleased to let you know that you can now configure Style Guidelines for each Space's knowledge base. Visit the Space settings, select a Space and scroll down to the "Style Guidelines" section.

You can tell Dosu who your audience is, how you want your docs to be structured, or any other instructions you have in mind. Internally, we've tested its capabilities as a poet and it made...an attempt.
In the land of tables, rows, and keys, RLS stands guard with silent ease. Service_role reigns with powers complete, While others must prove their access is neat.

Share Links to Documentation in Public Spaces
Got a great Dosu doc that you want to send to a user? Now you can easily grab a shareable link to documentation in Public Spaces. You'll find the button tucked away in the top right of the document.

Note that public links are only available for documentation in Public Spaces - your private docs remain private. You can change your Space's visibility using the "Public Space" toggle in the settings.
Channels → Deployments
You may have noticed that we've been doing some house-keeping in the Dosu app lately. We wanted to make you aware of one change in particular: We've renamed "Channels" to "Deployments." While the name has changed, the function hasn't. Your Deployments are the places where Dosu can send messages or take actions on your behalf, while your Data Sources are the places Dosu can reference for context and cite in its output.
We realize this tweak is about as exciting as unwrapping a new pair of socks, but we've heard your feedback about the friction that you've experienced with complex configurations, so expect more improvements soon.
CNCF Case Study
We just published a new case study about our work with the CNCF. Grab a glass of eggnog and read about the most wide-reaching Public Space we've had so far. You'll find out what the CNCF learned about the cloud native ecosystem by giving the community a way to ask anything.
Dosu's New Year's Resolutions
We want to close out the last Dosu Drop of 2025 by updating you on our plans for what's next.
Based on your input, our highest priority is making it easier to access Dosu's knowledge base from more places, with a particular focus on providing context for coding agents. Expect more details about our vision for how documentation can improve AI-driven development next month.
We're also working hard to let Dosu maintain docs directly on your platform of choice. To support that effort, we'll be expanding our library of integrations. If you use Notion, Coda, or GitLab, expect big announcements early in the new year, and please let us know which new integrations you're eagerly awaiting on Discord.
If you don't have a docs platform yet, we'll make it easier to start from scratch (or declare bankruptcy) with better and more frequent suggestions for when to create new documentation.
Finally, we'll be improving Dosu's ability to adapt to different users, so that it's more aware of what your goals are and what kind of information you're likely to want.
If you've got any other ideas for what Dosu should do next, or you want to learn more about our plans, please reach out on Discord.
We hope you enjoy a restful holiday and a happy new year. As always, thank you for using Dosu!
